Our Christmas Toy Drive: Bringing Joy to Our Community
On December 17, the team at DeMine Immigration Law Firm hosted our annual Christmas toy drive to celebrate the holiday season with children from our immigrant community. This initiative allowed us to give back directly to the families we serve and to help make the holidays a little brighter for their children.
This toy drive began last year as an idea to support our own clients. In the past, our firm donated to outside organizations, but we recognized how meaningful it could be to give directly to the families who trust us with their cases and support our work every day. Many immigrant families face financial challenges, and purchasing holiday gifts is not always possible.
A Special Day for Local Families
Seeing children’s faces light up as they received a gift and met Santa was a powerful reminder of why this effort matters. For many families, this was an opportunity to experience a joyful holiday moment together. Several parents shared how grateful they were to be able to give their children a special Christmas, including families who remember what it is like to grow up without holiday gifts.
Many of us at DeMine Immigration come from immigrant families ourselves and understand those experiences firsthand. That shared understanding is what makes initiatives like this so meaningful to our entire team.
Why This Matters to DeMine Immigration
This effort reflects who we are as a firm. Attorney Indera DeMine immigrated to the United States at the age of 14 and understands the challenges of building a life in a new country.
