USCIS Announces New $1,000 Immigration Parole Fee Effective October 16, 2025

Written by Samuel Sotelo | Oct 16, 2025 2:00:46 PM

USCIS has announced a $1,000 immigration parole fee for individuals granted parole or re-parole into the United States. The fee applies beginning October 16, 2025, and will be adjusted annually for inflation. Do not pay this fee with your application. It is collected only if DHS decides to grant parole.

What this means

Parole allows certain individuals to enter or remain in the U.S. temporarily for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit. The new fee applies each time DHS grants parole under INA 212(d)(5)(A), including parole in place and re-parole. The Federal Register notice explains timing, exceptions, and consequences for nonpayment.

When and how to pay

If USCIS determines it can approve your request and that the fee is required, it will send instructions and a deadline. DHS collects the fee after approval is ready to be issued and when parole is effected, either at a port of entry or if you are already in the United States. Applications like Form I-131 should not include this payment.

Plan for total costs

Parolees should also be aware of a separate $550 fee for the first employment authorization (I-765) created by HR-1. That fee is due when the initial work permit application is filed.
